| Study of effectiveness of acaricide Oberon Spid (24% SC) for control of Tetranychus urticae on cucumber in greenhouses |

| Spider mite is one of the most important pests of agricultural products that damages many plants, including cucumber. The effect of Oberon Speed® SC 24% (abamectin, EC 8.1% + spiromesifen, SC 24%) in Isfahan, Yazd and Kerman (Jiroft) provinces was examined with compete randomized block design with four treatments and three replications to control of cucumber mites (Tetranychus urticae) in greenhouses. Treatments included with Oberon Speed® two doses of 0.4 and 0.5ml/l, kanemite® (acequinocyl, SC 15%), 1.25 ml/l, Danisaraba® (Cyflumetofen, SC 20%), 1 ml/l and control treatment (Water spraying). The experiment was conducted, when we observed at least 3 mites per leaf in 30% of leaves. Sampling of each treatment was done at one day before and 3, 7 and 14 days after spraying respectively. In Isfahan the mean mite mortality at 3, 7 and 14 days after application of the treatments is significant at the level of 5 % and all the acaricide resulted in 53 to 91 percent mortality during the tests. The higher mortality showed on 7th days in Oberon Speed® 0.5 ml/l (91.8%), Danisaraba® (87.3%) and Oberon Speed® 0.4 ml/l (74%) treatments with lowest percent mortality in kanemite® (69.9%). In Yazd province, the effect of pesticides resulted in 63.7% to 97% during 3 to 14 days after spraying. Oberon Speed® 0.5 ml/l (96%), Cyflumetofen (97%) showed higher mortality on the 14th day after spraying. In Jiroft, the comparison of the average mortality in 3, 7 and 14 days after spraying showed that the treatments were significantly different at the level of 1% and the mean mite mortality of Oberon Speed® 0.5 ml/l at 3, 7 and 14 days was 89.57%, 91.57% and 63.90%. The effect of Danisaraba at 3,7 and 14 days after spraying was 80.7%, 90.97% and 63.90%. These results show that the population of two-spotted mites in greenhouse cucumbers can be controlled by Oberon Speed® 0.5 ml/l and it is recommended in the pest management program for use on greenhouse cucumbers. |
