Abstract:
Parasitengone mites (Acari: Trombidiformes) are important as natural enemies which play a major role in the biological control of pests. Distribution of these mites are mostly in the larval stage and are present in a wide range of terrestrial and aquatic habitats. During the year 2020, the study on fauna of terrestrial parasitengone mites was carried out in South Khorasan Province. The specimens were extracted using Berlese funnels or separated directly from their hosts (the hosts were collected using Berlese funnels, sweep nets and light traps) with an insect pin under a stereomicroscope. The mites were cleared in lactophenol and mounted on glass microscope slides using Hoyer’s medium. As a result, a total of 19 larval species belonging to 16 genera, six families and 10 subfamilies were collected. Among them, two species was new to science (marked with **) and seven species was new to South Khorasan province (marked with *).
